Turner was running down the line on the bunt attempt, Smith then tagged Turner to turn the double play to get out of the inning.
The rest of the scoring came in the sixth inning for the Bees. Scott Lucas and Joe Dickerson started it off with a walk. Matt Morisio then bunted the runners over. Alvi Morel then was intentionally walked to load the bases. Jarrod Dyson then reached on a fielder's choice, with Lucas being out at the plate. First and third two outs, Jake Smith grounded out to second to end the threat.
In the seventh inning with two outs. Affronti continued the game by singling to center. Mitchell then walked. Massaro ended the game with a foul pop to third.
Burlington also had some more chances throughout the game. In the first inning, Jarrod Dyson led off with a single to left, an errant pick off attempt got Dyson to second. A ground out later, and Daeza struck out both Mertins and Maddox on strikes to end the inning. In the second inning with two outs, Dickerson walked, and stole second. Daeza then got Morizio to ground out to end the inning.
The bees had one more shot to score, in the fifth inning. Morel led off with a bunt single to second, he just beat the throw. He stole second. Dyson then singled to left, Morel made third. Dyson then stole second. The Cougars then made a pitching change from Madej to Joe Newby. Newby got McConnel to ground out for the first out. Mertins then was intentionally walked to load the bases. Maddox reached on a fielder's choice, Morel was out at home. Turner struck out looking to end the inning.
This game was supposed to be two seven inning games, but due to below freezing temps and single digit wind chills it was only one seven inning game. The other game will be play as part of a double header next Sunday in Burlington.
