Kane County Cougars at Burlington Bees

Twelve innings to get the second win of the year, just another day for the Cougars. The Bees helped again with a lot of walks, two in the twelvth to help decide the game.
With one out in the twelvth, Chris Tritle walked. followed by Luis Perez who also walked. Kory Wayment then struck out for the second out. Luke Appert doubled to right to score both Tritle and Perez. Appert would be out trying to stretch it to to a triple. In the bottom of the inning, Jairo Garcia came on to close things out. He walked the first hitter he faced Bryan Graham. Adam Donachie then struck out looking. Anibal Fgueroa then pitch hit for Jeff Barry and struck out for the second out. Chris Lubanski would be out on a droped third strike, throw to first to end the game.
Brad Knox started for the Cougars and pitched six innings, were he had to get out of a couple of jams. In the first he had one out and would give up a bunt single to Angel Sanchez. Sanchez then stole second. Mitch Maier then walked. Maier would be caught off of second base, with Sanchez getting to third on the play. Brian McFall then lined out to center to end the inning.
After that Knox would give up a two out double in the third, but Chris Lubanski tried to get a triple and would be out to end the inning. Brad gave up single runs in the fourth and fifth, but would end his outing by retiring the final four Bees he faced.
Meanwhile, the Cougars got a walk in the first, but that would be erased by a double play to end the inning. In the second Dustin Majewski reached on a two out error, but would be caught steal third. In the fourth with a leadoff walk by Brian Ingram. A fielder's choice by Appert, then Appert getting caught trying to steal second. Castillo then doubled to left, that wouldve scored at least one run, but sense Appert was caught stealing, no runs. Eddie Kim then was caught looking.
The Bees would score against Knox in the fourth with one out. Maier triple just over centerfielder Majewski. Two pitches later he would walk home on a wild pitch to break the tie. Brian McFall then struck out on the next pitch after the wild one. Kila Kaaihue grounded out to first to end the inning.
With one out in the fifth, Bryan Graham reached on a two base error by shortstop Ingram. Adam Donachie then walked. A wild pitch would move both runners along a base. Jeff Barry then struck out for the second out. Chris Lubanski was intentionally walked to load the bases. A wild pitch would bring Graham home. Angel Sanchez struck out to end the inning.
Brian Ingram would walk with one out in the sixth. Luke Appert ehn hit a homer to right. David Castillo then flied to center. Eddie Kim singled to first. Brian Snyder struck out to end the inning.
The Cougars would make a pitching change in the seventh and bring in Dan Fyvie. With one out Graham singled to right. Donachie then singled to left to move Graham to second. Barry then struck out looking. Lubanski was intentionally walked again. This would load the bases. Angel Sanchez would reach on a fielder's choice, with Lubanski being out at second to end the inning.
To lead off the eighth for the Bees, Mitch Maier would hit a homer down the right field line. Brian McFall then doubled down the right field line. Kila Kaaihue tried to sweeze bunt, he missed the ball and McFall would be toast on his way home. The Cougars then made a pitching change to bring in J.R. Pickens in place of Adiel Sanchez. Adam Keim would pop out to short to end the inning.
Brian Snyder doubled to right with one out in the ninth. Majewski then singled up the middle to score Snyder to tie the score at three. The Bees then made a pitching change and brought in Alex Encarnacion. He would strike out David Harriman and Danny Gibbons to end the inning.

This Day In Cougars History (April 9)
1992, The Cougars beat the Rockford Expos 7-3. Bobby Chouinard went seven innings, giving up just one run and five hits.
1993, The Cougars play their first game as a Florida Marlins affiliate. Versus the Beloit Brewers.
1995, The Cougars drop their home opener 2-1 to Jeff D'Amico and the Beloit Snappers. The game is played in frigid contditions with the wind chill dropping to 17 degress by games end.
1997, Scott Podsednik goes 3 for 4, scoring a pair of runs and driving in two more as the Cougars defeat the Rockford Cubbies 7-3.
