A sacrifice fly in the second inning and one in the fifth inning, combined with a wild pitch helped lead the Cougars to their second loss of the season.

The Beloit Snappers would get on the board in the second inning, David Winfree started things off with a single to center. Jeremy Pickrel then doubled to left to get Winfree over to third. Terence Patterson would hit a fly to right. Winfree tagged up and would score on the sacrifice. Padron droped the ball as he went for the tag.

The Cougars came back in the third inning to take the lead with two runs of their own. Gregorio Petit led off with a walk. Nicholas Blasi then doubled to left, Petit would get to third. A wild pitch would bring home Petit and send Blasi to third. Wes Long followed with a walk. Kevin Melillo singled to right to score Blasi.

The inning that was hard to swallow was the fifth inning for the Snappers as they would scored three runs. Patterson led off with a walk. Javier Sandoval grounded one back to the mound, Patterson moved over to second base. He would then steal third. Paul Rutgers singled to center to bring home Patterson. Luke Hughes followed with a single to center, to get Rutgers to third. Deacon Burns then hit a grounder to Tommy Everidge at first. He threw home to try to get Rutgers at home. I thought he was out but he was called safe. Hughes went to third on the play. Trevor Plouffe would hit a sacrifice fly to right to allow Hughes to score on a close play. The Cougars then got Burns in a rundown between first and second and would tag him out to end the inning.

The Snappers added another run in the sixth inning. Johnny Woodard led off with a double to right. The Cougars then made a pitching change. Robert Smerano came in for starter Ryan Ford. Winfree greeted Semerano with a single to left to drive home Woodard.

Ryan Ford started for the Cougars and had to get out of some trouble of his own making in the first inning. He hit Hughes to led off the game. Burns flew out to right. Trevor Plouffe bunted one back to the mound for the second out. Woodard struck out to end the inning.

The Cougars had a couple of chances to sore some runs. With two outs in the first, Melillo singled to center, then stole second. Everidge then grounded out to second to end the inning. Myron Leslie led off the second inning with a walk. Raul Padron struck out. Kory Wayment followed with a liner to right. Chris Tritle was caught looking for the third out.

In the game the Cougars would hit into two double plays. In the third after the single by Melillo, Everidge would ground into one. In the fifth inning, Nicholas Blasi led off with a single to center. One out later, Melillo grounded into an inning ending double play.

Beloit's bullpen did a nice job. Angel Garcia gave up the hit to Blasi then got a double play. Steven Duguay closed out the game with two perfect innings.
