Kane County Cougars at Burlington Bees

Cougars started Ben Hickman for his second start of the season.
Hickman pitched a great game going six innings and allowing just
five hits and one run. While allowing two walks and getting two strikeouts.
Ben retired the first six Bees he faced before giving up a single to Spenser Oborn.
In the 14 outs that Hickman got he split it right down the middle 7 ground outs.
and 7 fly outs.

The Cougars offensivley had Francisco Ferrand and Dave Callahan both
have two hits each. The Cougars had double digit hits for the first time
this year.

For the Bees Jason Stumm started and went into the 5th inning but gave
up 6 h, 3 r, 3 er, 3 bb, 3 k. The Bees pitchers combined to give up 10 walks.

For the Bees Juan Lopez pitched 3.2 ip, 3 h, 2 r, 2 er, 4 bb, 7 k
in relief

The Bees were lead by Danny Sandoval offensivley getting 3 hits, all
singles. while scoring one run. The scoring started in the 4th inning for the Cougars when Chip
Ambres lead off the inning with a double. One out later Scott
Goodman walked. One more out later Dave Callahan doubled to center
to score both Ambres and Goodman.

The Cougars added one more in the 5th when Matt Frick lead off the
inning with a walk. Drew Miles then singled to center. David Paulino
then reached on an infield single to the third baseman. Chip Ambres
then reached on a fielder's choice in which frick was out at home. Then
with the bases loaded Francisco Ferrand walks.

The Bees would inch closer in the bottom of the inning when with
one out Mark Cochrane walked. Danny Sandoval then singled to right
One out later J.R. Mounts singeld to right to score Cochrane.

More scoring in the 6th for the Cougars when Matt Padgett and
Dave Callahan both walked. Kelley Washington then reached on a
infield single to the shortstop. Two pitching changes later in which
there were a total of two strikeouts. David Paulino then walked with the
bases loaded to score Padgett. Callahan would later score on a wild
pitch.

Burlington would sting again in the 7th when with two outs Danny
Sandoval singeld past Washington at third. Chad Durham hit a fly
out to right to Ferrand who droped the ball and allowed Sandoval
to score from first, while Durham would end up with a double.

The Cougars would add some more in the 9th when David Paulino walked
Then stole second, Went to third on a wild pitch. Paulino would score
on another wild pitch which was ball four to Chip Ambres, but Chip
got greedy and tried for second and was out. Francisco Ferrand then
tripled to right. Kevin Perkins doubled to center to score Ferrand
