The Cougars would win again, this time 7-4 against the Lansing Lugnuts.All seven of their runs came in the middle innings.

Matt Ray, Corey Brown, Jake Smith, Todd Johnson and Christian Vitters all had two hits. Corey Brown hit another home run.

Lansing started off the scoring in the first inning with four runs off of Cougar starter Scott Mitchinson. Justin Jackson led things off with a single to left, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Kevin Ahrens would singl to right to score Jackson. Darin Mastroianni then walked. Jonathan Jaspe would walk to load the bases. One out later, Manuel Rodriguez doubled to center to score both Ahrens and Mastroianni. Jaspe would score on a passed ball by catcher Jonathan Johnston. Mitchinson got Johermyn Chaves looking and Michael McDade swinging on strikes to get out of trouble.

Kane County scored three runs in the fourth inning. Jake Smith led off with a double to right. Todd Johnson then doubled to right to score Smith. Christian Vitters would single to left to get Johnson to third. One out later, Johnston would single back to the pitcher. The pitcher Luis Perez made a bad throw, which would allow Vitters to advance and Johnston to get to second. Vitters tried to score, he would be thrown out at the plate. Michael Lissman singled to third. Matt Ray then singled to right to score Johnston.

Three more runs for the Cougars in the fifth inning. Greg Dowling led it off with a walk. Smith then doubled to left to score Dowling. Shane Keough would come in to pitch run for Smith. One out later, Christian Vitters doubled to center to score Keough. The Lugnuts then made a pitching change to bring in Randy Boone to replace starter Luis Perez. Walter Correa greated the new pitcher with a double to left to score Vitters. Correa would steal third. Johnston and Michael Lissman both made outs to end the inning.

The last run of the game came in the sixth inning when Corey Brown hit a homer. The Cougars would have other chances to score runs in the game. In the second inning. Smith walked to lead things off. Johnson then singled to right. A passed ball would move them both up a base. Vitters then walked. Bases were loaded with nobody out. Correa struck out. Johnston would strike out looking. Lissman flew to right to end the inning.
