How many times are the Cougars going to strand runners on base, before they relize that it dosent count unless they cross home plate?

Derek Tharpe pitched a great game, he had one semi rough inning, and was perfect for five innings.

In the sixth inning, Jake Mullinax reached on an infield single to second. Brandon Yarbrough and Juan Lucena both grouded out to third, Mullinax would get to third on the two grounders. Matt Lemancyzk then walked. Chris Patrick singled to left to score Mullinax for the first run of the game. Joe Mather flew out to center to end the inning.

The other run the Swing would score was in the seventh. Derry Hammond led off with a single to center off of Keith Perez. Mike Ferris bunted him over to second, and he would get to third on a wild pitch. Jarrett Hoffpauir then singled to right to score Hammond.

The Swing would have one more chance to score in the eighth inning. Lucena doubled to left to led things off. Matt Shepherd pitch ran. Matt Leamancyzk would reach on a fielder's choice, with Shepherd being out at third. Lemancyzk would steal both second and third. Chris Patrick struck out. Joe Mather would fly out to center.

Mike Parisi started for the Swing and pitched very well. He went into the eighth inning, giving up six hits and one walk. Parisi struck out ten. The Cougars would hit into a double play in the first to get out of a led off single by Gregorio Petit.

In the third inning the Cougars would leave the bases loaded. Sound familar? Chris Tritle led off with a walk. Myron Leslie then singled to right. Kory Wayment would strike out. Petit popped out to second. Ryan Ruiz would be hit by a pitch, which loaded the bases. Kevin Melillo grounded out to first to end the inning.

With one out in the fourth the Cougars again would get more runners. Chalon Tietje singled to center. Tommy Everidge singled to left. Tritle and Leslie both struck out to end the inning.

Again, with one out, this time in the fifth inning two runners would be stranded. Petit would reach on an error by the shortstop. Ruiz singled to center. Melillo then struck out. Raul Padron grounded out to first to end the inning.

A double play would cancel out a one out single by Wayment in the seventh. In the ninth a one out walk, would be followd by a fly out and a ground out to end the game.
