Well the Cougars lost 1-0, they had more hits then the Great Lakes Loons, but if you commit three errors you are going to lose.

The Cougars had their chances to score throughout the game but just couldn't get the job done against the Loons pitching staff.

In the first inning, Michael Richard led off with a walk, then stole second and third. Matt Ray would be caught looking, Corey Brown grounded out and Greg Dowling poped out. In the second inning with two outs, Matt Smith hit a double to the wall in left. Christian Vitters then singled to center to get Smith to third. Shane Keough would ground out to end the inning.

With two outs in the fourth inning, Todd Johnson reach on a single to second. Matt Smith then walked. A balk would move the runners into scoring postion. Vitters struck out to strand both of them. Keough led off the fifth inning with a single to short. Richard then walked. Matt Ray would get the runners over with a bunt and reach base. Brown would strike out for the first out. The Loons then made a pitching change, Robert Blevins came in to relieve Kyle Smit. Blevins struck out Dowling, and would get Michael Lissman to ground out to strand the bases loaded.

The Cougars would leave their fans with there heads shaking agian in the sixth. With one out, Smith walked, Vitters then singled to left and Keough walked to load the bases. Richard hit one to third, the third baseman threw home to force out Smith. Ray then poped up foul to third to end the inning.

Believe it or not no clipboards were harmed in the listening of this game. Richard led off with a walk. Ray then singled to right. Brown would put down a bunt to move the runners along. Dowling would be intentionally walked to load the bases. Lissman then hit one to third, the third baseman taged third and threw home for a double play to end the game.

The lone run in the game came in the third inning. Pedro Baez led it off by reaching second on a throwing error by Vitters. Travis Vetters would then be called out on batters interferece. One out later, Jovanny Rosario singled to third on a bunt. Vitters would make another error, Rosario would get to second, and Baez scored.

Travis Banwart started for the Cougars and went seven good innings. He gave up four hits and the one unearned run. Travis didnt walked anyone and struck out six. He had to get out of trouble in the seventh inning. Andrew Lambo led off with a single to center. Brian Mathews then singled to left. Banwart would get Esteban Lopez, Pedro Baez and Travis Vetters all on strikes to end the inning.

Leonardo Espinal had some trouble in the eighth inning. Joe Becker led off with a single to right. Rosario then reached on a bunted fielder's choice, on the play Espinal fielded the ball and threw to second to force out Becker. One out later, Preston Mattingly singled to center. Espinal then got Lambo on strikes to get out of the inning.
