Well it was two swings of the bat by Dragons hitters that cost the Cougars the game. As their offense really never got anything going, especially with only two hits. The Cougars just didnt get anyone past second base in the game.
The Dragons started their scoring with a leadoff homer by Habilito Hernandez to left field. After the homer, Cougar starter Steve Sharpe, struck out Drew Anderson. Cody Strait then grounded out to third for the second out. Kenny Lewis then walked and stole second. Sharpe then got Mayker Sandoval to strike out to end the inning.
The next time the Dragons would score was the seventh. With one out, Sandoval walked. Phillip Gentry then hit a homer to right field. Chris Tritle almost robbed him of the homer. While rounding the bases, Gentry passed Sandoval on the bases, and would be called out between second and third. The run for Sandoval counted, Gentry was givin a double and was out at second. All of this against Tomas Cabaniel. Cabaniel then struck out Paul Janish to end the inning.
Dayton could've scored a couple of more times in the game. In the third inning, Janish singled to right with one out. Purdom then flew out to left, and Craig Tatum grounded out to end the inning.
In the sixth fifth inning with two outs, Gentry walked, along with Janish. First and second two outs, Purdom then reached on a fielder's choice with Janish getting out at second. In the sixth inning, Tatum walked to lead things off. Hernandez bunted him over to second. A man on second, with one out. Drew Anderson then grounded out to first to move Tatum to third. Cody Strait then grounded out to third to end the inning.
The eighth inning the Dragons could've added on. With two outs against Cabaniel. Hernandez bunted for a single to third. Anderson then singled to center. Strait walked, which loaded the bases. The Cougars brought in James Heuser to pitch to Kenny Lewis. Lewis would strike out looking to end the inning.
Kane County did have some chances in the game, they werent totally out of the game by no means. In the first inning Ryan Ruiz had a one out walk, then stole second. Javier Herrera would be caught looking. Raul Padron grounded out to second to end the inning.
Myron Leslie had a one out single to right. Tritle and Tommy Everidge couldn't get him in. In the sixth inning, Nick Blasi got a one out walk. One out later, Herrera was hit by a pitch. First and second with one two outs. Padron then flew out to center.

Note-Just so you all know, as of right now this is the reports, I hope sooner or later to be able to get back to doing the alumni report and boxscore in the report, but I just dont have the time. As many of you know or have seen, the website hasn't been updated that much this year. I hope to go back and get it all fixed and go back and rework all of the boxscores and player pages for this years team. The website will be down meanwhile for a couple of days, with the website and host being updated.
