Kane County Cougars at Beloit Snappers
May 12th, 2000
Pohlman Field, Beloit, Wisconsin
THIS GAME IS NOT FOR THE SQWEMISH, COUGARS FANS MIGHT WANT TO LOOK AWAY.
The Cougars got slaughterd todau 18-3 in the most lopside game of
the year. Kane County got out hit by 14.
For the Snappers offensivley all starters but Bobby Darula would
have at least one hit.
The Cougars actually scored first in the second when Dave Callahan
doubled to left. One out later Francisco Ferrnad hit a two run home
run to right.
Now the slaughter begins. In the bottom of the inning with one out
Ryan Bordenick hit a home run to right. Eduardo Reyes doubled to left.
Bill Hall then doubled to right to score Reyes. Frank Candella then
reached on an infield hit back to started Hector Henriquez. Candella
then stole second. Ryan Knox grounded back to Henriquez to score Hall.
Bobby Darula walked. Lance Burkhardt then singled to center to score
Candella. After a pitching change Scott Scarbourgh doubled to left to
score Darula.
More for the Snappers in the fourth when Bobby Darula was hit by
a pitch to lead off the inning. Lance Burkhardt then hit a home run
right down the left field line.
The fifth inning was the low point in the game when eight runs
would cross home plate for the Snappers, it seemed like to me that
nobody could get anyone out. Frank Candella lead it off with a walk,
advanced to second not on a stolen base this time but a wild pitch.
Ryan Knox then singled to center to score Candella. Knox then would
advance to second on another wild pitch. Bobby Darula walked. Lance
Burkhardt singled to center to score Knox. Scott Scarbourgh then
walked. Al Morrow came up next against Gaige Thomas and walked which
scored Darula. After Thomas was finaly pulled after getting just one
out and facing eight hitters Brandon Bowe came in and walked Ryan
Bordenick which allowed Burkhardt to score. Eduardo Reyes then came
up and walked which allwed Scarbourgh to score. Bill Hall then singled
to center to score Morrow. Frank Candella then came up and hit into
a fielder's choice which allowed Bordenick to score.
Finally on out later Ryan Knox hit a sacrifice fly to right ot score
Reyes.
To lead off the sixth for the Cougars Matt Frick would hit a home
run to left center field.
The Snappers unfortunatly were not done with their scoring outburst.
In the sixth Lance Burkhardt reached on an Luis Ugueto error. Scott
Scarbourgh then doubled to left to score Burkhardt. Al Morrow singeld
to right. Ryan Bordenick singled to right to score Scarbourgh. Eduardo

Notes-Henriquez actually pitched pretty well, not in numbers wise but if the deffense had made a couple of plays they usually make then the game might have turned out diffrent, but oh well go get them next time.
