Kane County Cougars at Dayton Dragons

Terry Byron had his best outing of the season, going intot he sixth inning. Terry had a perfect game going for three innings. Altogether he gave up three hits and three runs. He walked two and struck out one. Terry had a string of 21 straight outs going from his first
outing of the year.
The bullpen wasn't much help today as Chris Key and Manuel Esquivia combined to go 3 and two thirds innings. They gave up five hits and three runs, all earned. Thye walked four and struck out three. Eudy Lajara then came in and got hte last two hitters of the game.
Josh Wilson also had three hits, two of which were doubles.
The scoring started in the top of the first with two outs, Adrian
Gonzalez hit a homer, his seventh of the year to left.
The Cougars just kept pouring it on, in the second Miguel Cabrera lead
off the inning with a double to left. Two outs later Dominic Woody walked.
Josh Wilson then hit a fly ball to center, Wily Mo Pena basicaly just
droped the ball. On the play Cabrera and Woody scored.
Will Smith lead off the third inning with an infield single to second. Adrian
Gonzalez did the same thing to second after him. Smith went to third base
on the play. Jim Kavourias then grounded into a double play, on the play
Smith would score.
More fun for Kane County in the fourth when with two outs, Dominic
Woody doubled to left. Josh Wilson then also doubled to left, this time
right down the line to drive home Woody. Chip Ambres then singled to left
and Wilson scored. Will Smith then took a pitch to the opposite field for
a two run homer.
The Dragons then got on the board in the bottom of the inning when David
Espinosa lead off the inning with a single to left. Wandell Campana then
followed with a single to left. Espinosa then scored on a wild pitch.
Randy Ruiz then grounded out to short, on the play Campana would score.
With two outs in the sixth, Will Smith singled to right. Adrian Gonzalez
then hit his second homer of the game.
In the bottom of the ninth the Dragons did add one run to the board when
with one out Omar Hurtado singled to right. David Espinosa then walked. The Cougars
then made a pitching change taking out Manuel Esquivia and bringing in Eudy Lajara.
The first hitter Lajara faced was Wandell Campana and he hit a sacrifice fly to
center to score Hurtado.
