All of the scoring was done in the third and fourth innings, that would be all that the Cougars would need as they got another win. Jared Trout pitched very well.

Trout went seven innings, giving up two hits and two unearned runs. He walked three and struck out seven. After giving up a walk and an error in the third, along with a run, he retired the last twelve he faced.

Guilder Rodriguez led off the game with a walk. Steve Moss then grounded one to short, Ingram tried to get Rodriguez at second but was unable to, thus Moss reached on an infield single. Rodriguez would then be picked off of second base. After that Trout got Drew Anderson on strikes for the second out. Lou Palmasiano then was caught looking to end the inning.

The Snappers took the lead in the third inning with their only two runs of the game. With one out Josh Murray singled to left. Rodriguez would then walk. One out later Anderson walked which loade the bases. Palmasiano then reached on an error by third baseman Brian Snyder, on the play the throw was low. Murray and Rodriguez would both score.

The Cougars came back in the bottom of the inning to take the lead with three runs of their own. First of all they had their chances in the first two innings to score some runs but were unable to. In the first Ingram led off with a walk. Luke Appert then singled to center. One out later, Vasili Spanos would reach on a fielder' s choice. Basically it was the old area code play, with Appert being out at second. Snyder then grounded out back to the pitcher to end the inning.

In the third inning Appert and David Castillo would both walk. Spanos then doubled down the right field line to score Appert. Snyder singled to center to score Castillo. The Snappers would then make a pitching change. Dan Grybash came in for Brian Montalbo. Dustin Majewski would then walk to load the bases. Trevor Brown hit into a double play, on the play Majewski was out at second, and Spanos would score. Luis Perez then lined one to third, the third baseman Adam Heether made a nice diving play and throw to end the inning.

Kane County wouldn't be done there, they scored three more times in the fourth inning. Nick Rogers led things off by singling to left, he then went to second on an errant pickoff throw from Grybash. One out later Appert singled one through the middle of the drawn in infield to score Rogers. A wild pitch then moved Appert to second. Castillo then lined one off the glove of a diving second baseman, to allow Appert to score. Spanos doubled to right, Castillo went to third. Snyder would then walk, which again would load the bases. Majewski flew out to left, Castillo tagged and scored on the play.

Notes-Well lets see there was an error on my father, for one of those softy baseball that they throw out before the game, went right through his hands, and he told me to give him an error for that, so here it is.

This was the first time Jared Trout wore the number 23 in a game, he wore 17 before. This was his first win for the Cougars. Maybe it is the number

Hooper update: The parent Florida Marlins placed infielder Kevin Hooper on waivers Monday, said Marc DelPiano, the Marlins' director of player development. If no team claims him within 48 hours, the Marlins will likely re-sign him to a minor league contract.

Hooper has been inactive since his removal from the 40-man roster last week. The Marlins had 10 days to trade Hooper, release him or place him on waivers.
