Trevor Cahill pitched well for his first professional win. It was the Cougars 14th of the year, and their first of the year against the Beloit Snappers.

Cahill pitched six innings, giving up four hits and two runs. Only one of those runs would be earned. He walked one and struck out seven. Cahill did a great job in the third inning. With one out, Yancarlos Ortiz singled to second. Brian Dinkleman then walked. Steve Singleton singled to right to load the bases with one out. Cahill then got Dan Valencia and Johnny Woodard on strikes to get out of the inning.

The runs against Cahill would come two diffrent ways. In the second inning, with one out Joe Benson doubled to left. Chris Parmelee then reached on an error by shortstop Mike Affronti. Benson would score on the play. Cahill was then able to get Dan Santiesteban to ground into an inning ending double play. In the sixth inning Woodard would hit a solo homer with two outs.

The Cougars offense exploded in two innings in which they scored all five runs. It all began in the first inning, with one out, Affronti singled to center. Jermaine Mitchell then walked. One out later, Alex Valdez lined one to left, the leftfielder Santiesteban droped the ball. Affronti and Mitchell scored.

In the sixth inning the Cougars scored three runs. With two outs, Todd Johnson doubled to left. Larry Cobb then doubled to right to score Johnson. Matt Sulentic singled to center to score Cobb. Sulentic then stole second. Gustavo Rosendo doubled to center to score Sulentic.

Scott Moore came in for the save in the ninth. He would get his sixth save. He walked the first man he faced. Santiesteban then popped up. Moore would then be able to get a game ending double play.
