The Couars held on for a win on the first day of June against the West Michigan Whitecaps, with a score of 4-2.

Michael Rogers pitched well, he went six innings. Giving up only a first inning run, on six hits. Michael walked three and struck out six. After the second inning where the first two reached he would retireten in a row.

The Whitecpas would be the first ones to get on the board. With one out in the first inning, Nick McIntyre singled to left, he would get to second on a passed ball. Jeff Frazier then singled to short with McIntyre getting to third. Wilkin Ramirez hit a sacrifcie fly to center to allow McIntyre to score. Frazier stole second. Brent Dlugach walked. Rogers then got Luis Sabino to strike out to end the inning.

Kane County answered with a run of thier own in the fifth inning. Raul Padron doubled to right to lead off the fifth. Myron Leslie then singled to left. Jose Pineda grounded out to short, on the play Padron would score. One out later, Chalon Tietje was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and third with two outs. Travis Chapman flew out to right.

Two runs by the Cougars in the eighth would help things along. With two outs, Chapman singled to left, he would get to second on a wild pitch. Kevin Melillo then walked. Kory Wayment singled to left to score both Chapman and Melillo. Wayment went to second on the throw home. Javier Herrera grounded out to end the inning.

The Cougars added one run in the ninth. With one out, Leslie doubled to left. Pineda then singled to left. Eddie Kim then hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Leslie.

Dusty Ryan led off the ninth for the Caps with a double to center. Justin Justice then grounded out to first, Ryan would move on to third. One out later, McIntyre singled to center to score Ryan. McIntyre would move to second on deffensive indifference. Jeff Frazier walked. Runners on first and second with two outs. Wilkin Ramirez struck out to end the game.

The Whitecaps had a chance to score some runs in the eighth inning off of relievr, Keith Perez. Ramirez led off with a single to right. Dlugach then walked. Sabino would strike out. Lee then grounded into the inning ending double play.
