The game would be tied by the Kings in the fourth inning. Ian Kinsler led off with a single to left. Josh Kruezer was hit by a pitch. Dane Bubela then singled to right to score Kinsler. Jason Fransz grounded into a double play, Bubela would be out at second and Kruezer would score.
Now came the fun in the fifth. Tritle led off by reaching on an error by the left fielder Andrew Wishey. He basically just droped the ball. Tritle would reach second on the play. Rogers doubled to center to score Tritle. Ingram would ground out to second to get Rogers to third. Luke Appert then hit a grounded that bounced over the head of the shortstop Kinsler for a single. On the play Rogers scored. David Castillo walked. Spanos then hit a three run homer over the scoreboard in left field.

The Kings had two more chances to score some runs in the seventh and the eighth innings. In the seventh, with one out Adam Bourassa bunted on back to the pitch Leon and beat it out. A wild pitch would move him to second. Furtado then walked. Dan Fyvie came in to replace Leon. With runners on first and second with only one out, and the league's leading hitter up, Ian Kinsler.
