Who is this team?, this cant be the same Cougars that we have seen all year long. They scored 16 runs, got 22 hits, and only commited one error. They also hit five homers. Then again they were up 13 before they finished scoring. Kane County would win by seven runs, so some things dont change.

The first three innings took forever to complete, there were 12 runs, 11 by the Cougars. Not to mention four wild pitches, and three Cougar homers.

Oddly enough the Wizards would score first. Chris Kolkhorst led off the game with a double to left. Brett Dowdy then grounded out to second, Kolkhorst moved up to third.Kolkhorst would score on a wild pitch by Cougar starter Steve Sharpe. Peter Ciofrone then walked. A wild pitch would move him to second. Colt Morton then struck out. Another wild pitch would move Ciofrone to third. Tom Vincent grounded out to first to end the inning.

Four runs in the first helps, especially when two of them got on base with walks. With two outs, Javier Herrera singled to center. He would be picked off of first base, but he beat the throw from the first baseman to second base. Raul Padron singled to right to score Herrera to tie the game. Myron Leslie walked. A wild pitch would move both runners up a base. Jose Pineda walked to load the bases. Chalon Tietje blooped one down the right field line to allow both Padron and Leslie to score. Eddie Kim singled to right to score Pineda. Tietje would try to get to third and be thrown out to end the inning.

Ryan Ruiz hit a two out solo homer in the second innning to give the Cougars a four run lead. The ball hit off of the batters eye in straight away center field. Leslie led off the third inning with a homer off of the scoreboard in left center field.

Jose Pineda continued the inning with a walk. Tietje then singled to right. Kim hit a homer to deep center onto the deck in centerfield for a three run shot. One out later, Kevin Melillo doubled to right. The Wizards then made a pitching change. Fabian Jimenez was taken out in favor of Vern Sterry. Ruiz greated Sterry with a single to left. Herrera hit one foul behind the plate, catcher Colt Morton made a nice catch, falling backwards near the net. Padron doubled to right to score both Melillo and Ruiz.

The Wizards showed that they still had some life left in them in the sixth inning when they scored three runs. Dale led off with a single to center. One out later, Matt Bush would reach on an error by second baseman Melillo. The Cougars then made a pitching change, bringin in Clay Tichota to replace Sharpe. Yordanny Ramirez would reach on a fielder's choice, with Bush being out at second and Dale getting to third. Kolkhorst walked to load the bases. Dowdy singled to center to score both Dale and Ramirez. Ciofrone singled to left to score Kolkhorst. Morton would fly to left to end the inning.

Fort Wayne kept creeping closer, especially with three more runs in the eighth inning. Ramirez led it off with a walk, he would get to second on a wild pitch. Kolkhorst then walked. One out later, Ciofrone singled to center to load the bases. Morton doubled to center to score all three runners. Herrera dove for the ball and came up short and it went all the way to the wall.

Belive it or not, there could've been even more runs scored in this game. In the second inning for the Wizards, Dale led off with a single to center. One out later, Bush lined into a inning ending double play. In the third inning with one out, Kolkhorst was hit by a pich. He was then caught trying to steal second. That was big, because Dowdy then tripled to center. Herrera took a wrong line to the ball and had it go over his head. Ciofrone was then hit by a pitch. He would be picked off of first to end the inning and strand the runner on third.

In the fifth inning for the Wizards they had another chance. Kolkhorst led off with a single to center. Dowdy then hit into a double play. Ciofrone singled to left. Morton was then hit by a pitch.
