Who is this team?, this can't be the Kane County Cougars of 2005, did we all go back in time to the 2001 season. This is the kind of game that they would've played, or even the 2003 season. I guess the excuse accidents do happend refers to the Cougars scoring ten runs and not giving up any.

The Cougars scored nine of their ten runs in the third and fourth innings. Michael Rogers continued his good pitched by throwing six shutout innings, giving up four hits. Joe Scott then came in an pitched the final three innings, getting in and out of trouble. He didnt give up any runs but he gave up four hits.

Kane County scored four runs in the third innings. Kevin Melillo doubled to center to led off the inning. Ryan Ruiz then doubled to left to score Melillo. Javier Herrera then walked along with Tommy Everidge which loaded the bases. Myron Leslie then singled to right to score both Ruiz and Herrera. Everidge would be thrown out at third for the first out. Jose Pineda then doubled to center, Leslie went to third. A wild pitch would allow Leslie to score. Nick Blasi struck out, and Eddie Kim popped out to short to end the inning.

Travis Chapman led off the fourth inning with a single to right. Melillo then singled to right. Ruiz tried to bunt the runners over into scoring position. The ball got past the pitcher for a single to load the bases. Herrera singled to right to score both Chapman and Melillo. Herrera would get to second on a air mailed throw for the right fielder, and get to third on a wild pitch that allowed Ruiz to score. The Bees then brought in a new pitcher, the old one ran out of sting. Everidge then hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Herrera. Leslie singled to right. One out later, Blasi singled to second. Kim would dump one to left to allow Leslie to score. Chapman popped out to second to end the inning.

Meanwhile, Michael Rogers was pitching a shutout. He had some runners on base throughout the game but they would get past second untill he was out of the game. In the first inning, Pete maestrales led off the game with a single to right. Ed Lucas then reached on a fielder's choice, with Maestrales out at second. Lucas would then steal second. Rogers struck out Mario Lisson and get Damaso Espino to ground out to end the inning.

The next time a runner would get on base would be with two outs in the third inning. Maestrales walked, then was picked off of first. In the fourth, Lisson was hit by a pitch with one out, but wouldnt go anywhere as Rogers retired the next two hitters. In the fifth inning with one out, Kenard Springer singled to right. One out later, Irving Falu singled to center. First and second with two outs, Maestrales flew out to center to end theinning. The sixth inning Rogers had two more runners on. With two outs, Espino singled to center, then got to second on an error by Herrera. Brian McFall was hit by a pitch. Ed Solis then ended the inning by hitting into a force play at second.

Joe Scott came on in the seventh inning. With one out, Jared Ellis reached on a error by second baseman Melillo. Falu then reached on a fielder's choice with Ellis being out at second. Maestrales singled to right. Scott then got Lucas out on strikes to end the inning. In the eighth inning with one out, Robert Grana singled to right, he would get to second on a wild pitch. McFall and Solis both flew out to right to end the inning. In the ninth inning Scott would get into trouble again. With one out, Ellis singled to center. Falu then reached on a fielder's choice, with Ellis being out at second. Maestrales singled to center. First and second with two outs, up ten. Lucas grounded out to end the game.

The other Cougar run would come across in the fifth inning on a leadoff bomb to right for Kevin Melillo. The Cougars had other opportunities to score in the game. In the first inning, Herrera would draw a two out walk, then steal second. Everidge then flew out to center. In the second inning, Leslie walked. Pineda then reached on a feidler's choice, Blasi followed with a single to left. First and second with one out. Kim flew out to short. Chapman then grounded into a force at second to end the inning.
