Well, its the secod half of the season and nothings changed. The Cougars still cant get a runner moved on the bases, and have enough trouble just getting runners on base. Plus they had two more errors in the game tonight. They lost 8-1 to the Clinton Lumberkings.

The only scoring the Cougars would do came in the second inning, and it was a two out solo shot to left field for Nick Blasi. His second of the season.

Besides that the Cougars didnt get anyone to touch third base in the game. In the first inning, Kevin Melillo led off the game with a single to right. One out later, he would steal second. Javier Herrera struck out, and Raul Padron then popped out to second to end the inning. In the third inning, Travis Chapman led off with a walk. Melillo would then ground into a double play. With two outs in the sixth, the newest Cougar, Cliff Pennington walked, he would be caught trying to steal second to end the inning.

The eighth inning with two outs, Eddie Kim would walk, Chapman ended the inning by grounding into a force play. In the ninth, Gregorio Petit singled to short. Herrera then ended the game by hitting into a double play.

Eric hurley started for the Lumberkings and pitched very well. he went seven innings, giving up two hits and one run. He would walk two and strike out eight. Chris Jaile and Mike Padgett then came in to close out the game.

Clinton took the lead in the first inning with a run. Brandon Cashmen led off with a single to right, he would get to second on a throwing error by Cougar starter Michael Rogers. Two outs later, Ben Harrison singled to left to score Cashmen. In the fifth inning, Kevin Richardson led off the inning with a walk. Andrew Wishey then singled to right, on the throw in both runners would advance a base. One out later, Casey Benjamin walked to load the bases. Cashmen then singled to left to score Richardson. Tug Hullett flew out to left to end the inning.

Lizahio Baez led off the sixth with a double to left. Ben Harrison grounded out to second, on the play Baez moved to third. Travis Chapman would pick Baez off at third. Emerson Frostad then singled to left. Richardson doubled to center to score Frostad. The Cougars then made a pitching change, with J.R. Pickens coming in for Rogers. Wishy walked to put runners on first and second with two outs. Ian Gac then doubled to right to score both Richardson and Wishy. Gac would be thrown out at third trying for a triple to end the inning.

With one out in the seventh, Cashmen was hit by a pitch. Hullet then reached on a fielder's choice, with Cashmen being out at second. Baez doubled to left to score Hullet. In the eighth the Kings would score twice more. With one out, Richardson walked. Wishy then tripled to right to score Baez. Gac grounded out to third, on the play Wishy would score.

Randy Messenger became the 76th former Cougar to make his big league debut last night when he pitched a scoreless inning for the Marlins.

Josh Willingham was recalled to the Marlins.
