The Cougars got pounded on in the first inning by the Chiefs. They would score seven runs on five hits, including a grand slam to cap it off.

Anthony Monegan led off with a double down the left field line. Brenden Ryan then was hit by a pitch. Cody Haerther doubled down the left field line to score both Monegan and Ryan. Tyler Parker followed with a single to left. One out later John Paul Davis would walk to load the bases. Sal Frisela singled to left to score Haerther. The bases were still loaded when Joe Mather came up. He hit a grand slam to left center field to basically bury the Cougars.

The Cougars would come up with their only run of the game in the second inning. With one out Dustin Majewski singled to center. One out later, Eddie Kim would single to left. Luis Perez then followed with a single to center to score Majewski.

Kane County got runners on base in a few more innings, so they weren't completely out of it. In the fourth inning Brian Snyder led off with a single, then reach second on an error by the short stop. Majewski moved him to third with only one out. Kory Wayment then grounded to short. Eddie Kim would then pop to third to end the inning. A double play in the fifth would take care of a leadoff single by Perez.

In the ninth Snyder led off with a walk, then went to second on a wild pitch. Chiefs pitcher Brandon DeJaynes then struck out, Majewski, Wayment and Kim to end the game.

Peoria added a run in the fourth and the seventh innings. In the fourth inning with one out. Ryan singled to center, he would then be balked to second by pitcher Manny Rodriguez. Haerther grounded to second, on the play Ryan went to third. Parker singled to center to score Ryan.

Tyler Parker led off the seventh with a double to center. Two outs later Sal Frisella doubled down the left field line to score Parker.

We have a couple of player sightings, Jeff Muessig who is coming off of "Tommy John" surgery was sighted in the Arizona league. Allen Baxter who is coming off of the same surgery was sighted in Jamestown.
