Baseball can be an adventurous game sometimes. That what happends when two team combine to score 15 runs, get 23 hits and make three errors. It's also amazing how a team, can look so bad the first eight innings of a game, and then score five runs in the ninth inning.

The Cougars were an Eddie Kim away from pulling out the win in the ninth. The ninth inning was just a comedy of errors and things that just dont happend in a normal baseball game. The Snappers brought in a new pitcher to start the inning, Frank Mata. Jeff Baisley greeted him with a double off the third baseman's glove down the left field line. The ball rolled down the line and towards the stands to allow Baisley to reach second. A wild pitch would move Baisley to third. Anthony Recker then hit a fly to center. Baisley then tagged up and tried to score on the play, he was ruled to be out at third, after the play had ended and he was called safe at home. That can only mean that he left early from third. So now there are two outs. A little bit of a history lesson. On the 12th of May 2006 Frank Mata hit Jose Pineda, to help start out the fight in Beloit. Well Mata would hit Pineda again tonight. Pineda went to first and there was no incident this time. Steve Kleen then singled to left. That would put runners on first and third with two outs. Raul Padron hit a single to right to score Pineda. Kleen and Padron would move up a base each, after the right fielder missed the ball. Wes Long then was pitch hit for by the newest Cougar. Toddric Johnson. Johnson would then foul off some pitches, and eventually bloop one behind the pitchers mound that just fell in. Kleen would score. Justin Sellers then walked to load the bases. The Snappers then brought in Yohan Pino. Isaac Omura hit a grounder to first, the first baseman Erik Lis booted the ball. This allowed Padron to score and left the bases remain loaded. Chad Boyd then hit another grounder to Lis and he bobbled the ball for another error, Johnson would score on the play. Jeff Baisley then walked to force in Sellers.

With the Cougars down four runs, the bases loaded, and two outs in the ninth inning. Anthony Recker came up. He would he a ball to straight away center, that was real close to the warning track. Off the bat it looked like it would be a Cougars win. The ball would come down out of orbit and land in centerfielder Edward Ovalle's glove to end the game.

The Cougars would fall behind early in the game. Beloit score three runs in the third inning off of Cougar starter Trey Shields. Allan De San Miguel led off with a single to left, then moved to second on a wild pitch. Tarrence Patterson walked. Drew Thompson then moved the runners along with a ground out to first. One out later, Erik Lis walked, which would load the bases. Edward Ovalle then was hit by a pitch to force in Miguel. Whit Robbins blooped a single to center to score both Patterson and Lis. Kane County actually came right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning. Steve Kleen led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Two outs later, Justin Sellers singled to short. The throw from the shortstop was wide and got away. Kleen would score and Sellers went to second. Omura grounded out to end the inning.

A disastorous fifth inning again doomed the Cougars. This is getting old with the bad fifth innings every day. Paul Kelly led off the inning by being hit by a pitch. Erik Lis then launched one over the right centerfield fence in front of his hometown cheering section for a two run homer. The Cougars then brought in Randy Rapp, it wouldn't get much better. One out later, Whit Robbins hit a homer to right. One more out later, Dwayne White sent one into orbit over the deck in right field.

Beloit scored their last two runs in the ninth innig. Lis led off by doubling off the wall down the left field line. Ovalle then doubled to center to score Lis. A wild pitch moved Ovalle to third. Robbins singled to left to drive in Ovalle. Two diffrent wild pitches, ment that Robbins was standing on third base. Thankfully Cougar pitcher Joe Newby would eventually get a pop up and two ground outs to end the inning.

The Cougars had their chances in the game to score more runs. In the fourth inning with one out, Baisley doubled to left, the left fielder dove for the ball and it got past him, which allowed Baisley to reach second. Recker then grounded out to short. Pineda reached on an error by Oswaldo Sosa, Baisley would get to third. Kleen then hit one back to the pitcher to end the inning. In the fifth inning Padron led off with a single to center. A ground out, a pop out, and a line out later, the inning was over.

Beloit even had more chances to score runs. In the seventh inning, with one out, Robbins was hit by a pitch. Eli Tintor then walked. White would hit one to short, near the second base bag. Sellers bobbled the ball, and it rolled over to second baseman Omura who got it and stepped on second to force out Tintor. Miguel then struck out looking to end the inning.

Notes-Well Birdzerk was here, he had some trouble with the little kid in the sombero dance, but the glove act was the best one i've seen him do yet.

More Notes-Mike Massaro will have a MRI done on his broken wrist on Saturday, and is out indefenitly. The newest Cougar is Toddric Johnson. He is the A's 14th round pick in this years draft out of Southern Mississippi. He is a centerfielder with some speed.
