Is this the same team, that was so horrible to watch in the first half, they have won three games in a row. it is the first time since after the first series of the year that we are two games over .500 for a half. We have won two extra inning games in a row. The Cougars won 3-2 in ten innings tonight at Peoria.

The Cougars would win the game in the tenth, by letting the Chiefs beat themselves. Cliff Pennington led off with a walk. Chiefs pitcher Tim Layden then tried to pick off Pennington and threw the ball away. Pennington would get to third with nobody out. Peoria then tried to intentionally walk Javier Herrera, Layden would have some trouble with the intentional walk. He threw the ball away to allow Pennington to score the game winning run.

Peoria started off the scoing in the second inning. Drew Larsen led off the inning with a double to center. Oscar Bernard then reached on an error by Pennington to allow Larsen to score. Bernard would then be picked off of first. Cougar starter Ryan Ford picked off two runners off of first base.

Ford pitched seven strong innings, he gave up four hits and two runs. Only one of those runs would be earned. He walked two and struck out three. Ford had to get out of trouble from the get go. In the first inning with one out, Eric Patterson singled to center, then stole second. Ryan Harvey then walked. Ford would get Luis Montanez to line to short and Jesse Schmidt to be caught looking to get out of the inning. The Chiefs did get another run off of Ford. In the sixth inning Montanez hit a solo homer to left.

Pennington would have three hits in the game, his second one came in the third inning with one out, when he doubled to center. Herrera then got him over to third. Raul Padron flew out to center to end the inning. With one out in the fourth Eddie Kim had a single to right. Luis Perez then grounded out to short, Kim moved to second. Ryan Ruiz would ground out to end the inning.

The Cougars were able to score two runs in the sixth inning. With one out, Padron singled to right. Jose Pineda then doubled to center to drive home Padron. Pineda would be called out at third trying for a triple. Kim singled to right. Ruiz then followed with a double to right to score Kim. Gregorio Petit would hit into a force at third to end the inning.

Pennington then added a single to short with one out in the seventh. Herrera would then pop out to short for the second out. Padron grounded out to first to end the inning. In the ninth inning with one out, Petit walked then stole second. On the same pitch, which went to the back stop and would be a wild pitch he would be thrown out at third.

Robert Semerano came in for the bottom of the tenth and got the side on strikeouts. Eddie Kim had two singles to right. Ruiz reached basee twice and drove in a run.
