Brant Colamarino accounted for four of the Cougars six runs with two, two run homers tonight to lift them over the Dragons four the four game sweep. Colamarino who hit his 16th and 17th homers of the year, and now leads the team in homers, he has three hits in this series and all three are homeruns.

The Cougars pitchers also did a nice job, Steve Obenchain started and even though he had to be removed in the fifth inning with a right hip problem he pitched very well. Steve gave up only two hits, both hits were in the third inning. Chris Dunwell did an awesome job, he came in to replace Obenchain and pitched the next two and two thirds innings. Chris gave up two hits, and three walks. He also struck out five. Dunwell really had one bad inning, but he did a magnificant job of getting out of it. In the seventh he gave up a leadoff walk to Jason Vavao. Tiago Campos then hit a ground rule double over the fence in right center. Dunwell came back and struck out Manny Paula, Orlando Sulbaran and Hector Mateo to end the inning.

The Cougars would score five of their six runs in the first three innings. In the first with two outs, Francis Gomez walked. Colamarino then hit one to left center for a two run homer. Nelson Cruz struck out to end the inning. In the second inning Brian Staviksy leadoff with a double. John McCurdy struck out. John Suomi flew out to left. Kory Wayment singled to right to score Stavisky. Wayment would steal second and get to third when the second baseman droped the throw from the catcher. Marcus McBeth would strike out to end the inning.

Andre Etheir led off the third with a single to center. Gomez got him over to second with a bunt. Gomez was actually trying to get a hit with the but hard up the first base line. Colamarino would hit a two run homer over the right field deck for another two run homer. Nelson Cruz then struck out. Brian Stavisky doubled to center. John McCurdy would ground out to second to end the inning.

The game would stay that way untill the sixth when the Cougars would claw another run onto the board. Staviksy led off with a double that went just under the glove of the diving centerfielder and rolled a little ways. John McCurdy grounded one to second. Stavisky was half way towards third, and the second baseman looked towards him. Then threw to first, McCurdy just beat out the throw for a hit. John Suomi would line one to center, that would be just deep enough to score Stavisky from third. Kory Wayment lined one to center, the throw from the centerfielder back towards first base almost nabbed McCurdy for the double play. McBeth would foul one back to the catcher to end the inning.

Dayton did score once in this game. In the eighth inning with one out Matt Boone lined one just past a diving Nelson Cruz out in right field that went off the wall for a double. Jarrod Schmidt lined one to McBeth in center. Boone tagged up and fro the warning track McBeth threw a perfect strike to third base that was just late. The Cougars had brought in Manuel Rodriguez at the start of the inning in relief of Chris Dunwell. Rodriguez threw a wild pitch that plated Boone to break the shutout. Ryan Fry walked. Jason Vavao then doubled to center. McBeth dove for the ball and came up empty. Fry would only get to third, and McBeth had the wind knocked out of him. Tiago Campos lined one to the wall in left center. McBeth ran a long ways and caught the ball near the wall to end the inning.

In the ninth inning things would get interesting to say the least. In the sereis there had been nine hit batsman, and from what I could tell only one warning. The warning was in the first game of the series. In todays game there was three people hit. Chris Mowday had just come in from the pen, first hitter he faces, Manny Paula he hits. Immedriatly he is ejected. Mowday goes nuts, yelling and screaming at the ump and getting in his face. Finally he is restrained by hitting coach Eddie Williams. After he entered the dugout he throws two folding chairs, a bat and the bag of batting practice balls ontot he field. Leonard Landeros then comed in and gets Orlando Sulbaran to ground into a double play. Hector Mateo then grounds out to short to end the game.

Brian Stavisky had a great game. He had three hits all doubles. Brian scored twice also.
