The Cougars got behind early and played catch up again, this time they actually took the lead in the game. For all of about a half inning before the Rattlers scored two runs. The Cougars then would have a chance in the ninth but couldnt get a hit with the bases loaded.

Ryan Ford started and in the first inning couldn't get the ball over the plate. Brent Johnson greated him with a double to right center. Chris Colton then followed with a double to leftcenter to score Johnson. Rob Johnson then walked. Mike Wilson doubled to leftcenter to score both Colton and Johnson. Lucky, Brandon Green lined out to third baseman Gregorio Petit. Who threw to second to double off Wilson to clear the bases. Yung Chi Chen then singled off of Petit's glove. Matt Tuiasosopo grounded out to second to end the inning.

Kane County chipped away at the lead in the fourth with a run. With two outs, Tommy Everidge doubled down the left field line. Myron Leslie then had a single to left to score Everidge. Lelsie took second on the throw. Jose Pineda would then fly to center to end the inning.

The Cougars took the lead in the fifth inning with three runs of their own. With two outs, Petit singled to short. Cliff Pennington then doubled off of the left field wall. Luis Perez then hit a three run homer that just stayed fair to left.

They get the lead, they give it right back. This is frustrating sometimes. With two outs in the fifth, Brent Johnson walks. Chirs Colton then takes a pitch over the left field wall for a two run homer.

In the sixth inning the Cougars got a one out walk to Leslie. Pineda then hit into a fielders choice and Ryan Ruiz lined out to right. In the eighth inning, Javier Herrera got a one out single to right. A fielder's choice and a fly out later and the inning was over. For the Rattlers, in the second inning, Jack Arroyo was hit with one out. Ford then got Brent Johnson to ground into an inning ending double play. In the third inning, Colton led off with a single up the middle. He would then be picked off of first.

The Rattlers in the seventh, were led by a leadoff single up the middle by Luis Soto. Arroyo then popped up a bunt. Brent Johnson flew to right, Soto tagged up and moved to third. Colton grounded out to end the inning. In the eighth inning, Rob Johnson led off by reaching on an error by Petit. Wilson then reached on a fielder's choice, he then stole secodn base. Green walked. Chen then grounded out to short. Second and third two outs. Tuiasosopo then grounded out to Petit, who made a nice play to get the ball to end the inning.

Im happy to report no clipboards were broken the last inning of the game, but am sad to report that the first one of the year was broken last Sunday, just reading the box score of the Burlington game to complete the sweep of the Cougars. In the ninth, Pineda led off with a single to right, a wild pitch moved him to second. Ruiz would then strike out. David Castillo pitch hit for Roberto Arias and would walk. Petit also drew a walk, which loaded the bases with one out, down one run. Pennington then struck out. Luis Perez then hit the first pitch he saw to the first baseman to end the game.

Random Notes--. Error on the guy in section 108, row H, seat 5. The guy in seat seven, (his son) was going to catch the foul ball with his glove. The father then tries to get the ball, he's got a catchers mitt. Both of them wiff on the foul ball and the guy in the middle gets the ball.....The error last night in the seventh inning to end the first game was changed from Padront to Leslie. Because of obstruction by Leslie after the ball got away....In the Cougar fantasy league right now Alan Malamut is ahead with ten points after two games.
