Today, somehow the Cougars are the ones scoring runs in the eigth inning to pull off a win. They basically stole the win from the Swing. Cliff Pennington had three steals, and Jose Pineda had two stolen bases.

Ryan Ruiz led off the eighth inning by reaching on an error by the third baseman. Gregorio Petit then singled to left. Cliff Pennington followed with a three run homer. One out later, Myron Leslie doubled to right. Tommy Everidge was then intentionally walked. Jose Pineda then came through with a single to left to score Leslie. Javier Herrera then pitch hit for David Castillo, and hit a double to right to score both Everidge and Pineda. Nick Blasi ended the inning with a fly to right.

The Cougars would get behind early as the Swing scored three runs in the first two innings off of Cougar starter Joe Scott. Somehow this wasnt a higher scoring game, with both teams leaving runners on base. In the third inning, Shepherd led off with a walk. One out later, Stavinoha singled to left. Scott then got a pop out and a strike out to end the inning. A leadoff walk in the fourth would be erased by a caught stealing. In the sixth inning two one out singled would be erased by a double play.

Lemancyzk led off the seventh with a double to left. Shepherd bunted him to third. Ankiel then grounded out to short. Stavinoha would line to short to end the inning.

The Cougars left the bases loaded twice. The first time was in the first inning. Pennington led off with a single to short, then stole second. Perez and Leslie both would strike out. Everidge then walked, along with Pineda which loaded the bases. Castillo popped out to second to end the inning.

In the sixth inning, Ruiz led off by being hit by a pitch. He then stole second. One out later, Pennington walked. A wild pitch would move both runners along a base. The Swing then brought in a new pitcher. Perez struck out and Leslie popped out.
