Joe Scott pitched seven masterfull innings of no hit ball against the Beloit Snappers. In those seven innings he walked three, and hit one. He also struck out five Snappers. No hits doesnt mean no trouble though as Beloit had runners in scoring positon twice. Trent Peterson then came in and looke good for his two innings. He would be charged with giving up the only two hits the Snappers would get, but they were both bloopers in the ninth inning.

Scott got out of trouble in the first inning. He would walk Tarrence Patterson to start the game off. Then walk Deacon Burns. Scott would get David Winfree to pop out to center for the first out. Jeremy Pickrel then grounded out to first. First baseman Tommy Everidge made a great diving stop near the line before he threw to Scott covering the bag for the out. Chris Brown then grounded one back to Scott to end the inning.

The only other time that Scott had runners on would be in the fourth inning. With one out, Pickrel was hit by a pitch, then stole second. Brown would walk. Scott then was able to get Trevor Plouffe to ground into an inning ending double play.

The only hits against the Cougars came with one out in the ninth. Burns slooped one into right. Winfree then blooped one into center. Peterson would then get Pickrel looking for the second out. Brown would then strike out to end the game.

With the win the Cougars are now tied for the wild card with Beloit. They would lose the tie breaker to them in the end, because they lost the season series.

The Cougars offense also played a big part in the game as they had ten hits and scored eight runs. In the first inning Cliff Pennington led off by reaching on a throwing error by Winfree. He would be stranded at second. In the second inning with two outs, both David Castillo and Ryan Ruiz walked. Gregorio Petit then lined to center to end the inning. In the third inning, Pennington led off with a single back to the pitcher. One out later, Myron Leslie walked. One out later, Travis Buck hit into a force at third with Pennington being tagged out to end the inning.

Kane County finally broke through for a run in the fourth inning. Nick Blasi led off with a double to right center. Castillo then singled to right. One out later, Petit would reach on a fielder's choice, with Castillo being out at second, and Blasi scoring.

Two more runs came across the plate for the Cougars in the sixth inning. With one out, Blasi reached on a throwing error by Winfree. One out later, Ruiz hit a two run homer to left center. In the seventh inning the Cougars erupted for five runs. Pennington led it off with a double down the left field line. One out later, Leslie singled to right. Everidge then walked which loaded the bases. Buck singled to center to drive in Pennington. The Snappers then changed pitchers. Blasi lined one up the middle just off the glove of the diving shortstop Plouffe. Leslie and Everidge would score. Blasi then stole second. Castillo doubled to right center to drive in both Buck and Blasi. Ruiz would then single to right to get Buck to third. One out later, Pennington was hit by a pitch. Luis Perez struck out to end the inning.

Random Notes-This is the first time in a while I have been able to get to writing since it has been a trying week in my family. Hopefully I will be able to get the final 12 games of the year done.
