Trevor Cahill pitched well for his six innings, and the bullpen held. The offense continued to produce, this time five runs on seven hits.
Kane County started getting their runs in the first inning. With one out, Josh Horton lined one down the left field line for a double. Greg Dowling then walked. Sean Doolittle grounded out to second to move the runners along. Alex Valdez then hit one to the wall in right for a double to score both Horton and Dowling.
In the second inning the Cougars would score another run. Jermaine Mitchell led off the inning with a single to left, then stole second. One out later, Mike Massaro blooped a double down the left field line to score Mitchell.
The other two runs for the Cougars came in the sixth inning, Alex Valdez led off the inning with a double to center. Todd Johnson then tripled to right to score Valdez. Gustavo Rosendo reached on an error by the second baseman to allow Johnson to score.
Clinton did score one run in the game. In the fifth inning with two outs Chad Ogden walked. Marcus Lemon the doubled to right center to score Ogden. Just before Lemon would be out tryin for a triple.
