Chris Dunwell pitched well eventhough he gave up five runs, he pitched a lot better than he did the previous few times out. This time he went through five innings.

Again the Cougars wernt able to match the Lugnuts offensive punch, as they lost 5-1. The Nuts scored a run in the first inning. Chris Walker ledoff the game with a bunt single to third. One out later, Brian Dopirak walked. Kevin Collins then walked to load the bases. Drew Larsen grounded out to first, Walker scored. Alan Rick then grounded out to first to end the inning.

The Cougars did score a run to tie the game. Brian Ingram singled to left, then moved along to second and then third on a couple of wild pitches. One out later, David Castillo grounded out to short to score Ingram. Vasili Spanos doubled to left. Eddie Kim then singled to left. Spanos tried to score but would be thrown out to end the inning.

Robinson Chirinos led off the second with a single to short. Uriak Marquez singled to center. Carlos Rojas then grounded into a double play. Chirinos would score on the play.

The Cougars had a chance to score some runs in the third inning but just couldnt get it done. Jesse Acosta led it off with a walk. Brian Ingram then singled to right. Nick Rogers moved the runners along with a bunt. Runners on second and third with only one out. David Castillo poped up to first. Spanos poped up to short to end the inning.

More frustration in the fourth inning when the Cougars had another chance to score. Kim led it off with a single to left. One out later Dan Putnam singled to center. Chris Tritle would reach on a fielder's choice, with Putnam being out at second. Runners on the corners with two outs. Acosta struck out.

Collins was intentionally walked. Larsen singled to left to score Dopirak and Collins. Rick then singled to left. Bases loaded with one out for Dunwell. Chirinos struck out.
