Rich Hanson (chapter president), leads off with the welcoming of all attendenees. Also with news of future chapter plans and meetings. SABR National is discussed for this year in Houston. Plus what we know so far about next years National convention in Chicago.
Bob Kendrick, President of the National Negro League Musuem in Kansas City is the 1st speaker. He starts off with the story of the rise and fall of the negro leagues. Then starts telling stories about the negro league players that we should know about. Lastly we all discuss the topic of how to get more African American's to play baseball
Chris Kamka of Comcast Sportsnet is next with his take on this day in baseball history. Also discussed were the Cubs leaving WGN. Kamka also discussed negro league games played at Old Comiskey Park
Rich Hanson leads more discussion about the National convention in Houston this year. Plus about new baseball books that just came out.
Brian Bernardoni discusses Wrigley Field, The Cubs and Folklore.
Jessica Jenson discusses footwear and cleats in baseball. How that affects injuries and what can be done to prevent them.
