Rich Hanson opened the meeting with comments on the recently finished Chicago baseball season.

Scott Brown and Cindy Thomson gave a great presentation on Mordecai "Three Fingerd" Brown.

Jack Smiles then presented on Ed Walsh.

After the two presentations we had a book signing by all the authors and a break.

The next part was chapter business. Rich Hanson said the next meeting will be on January 10th, 2009 somewhere on the norhtwest side. David Malamut then talked about the next issue of the newsletter, with the deadline for submissions being November 15th.

Dave Anderson prepared a trivia quiz on the 1908 season. It was a tuff quiz. Abby won the prize of Anderson's book.

Brian Bernardoni then told us about the project and the celebration of the marker that was put up to mark the sight of West Side Grounds.

Richard Smiley then gave a presentation on this day in baseball history. 100 years ago today was game 2 of the world series, Detroit vs Cubs at West Side Grounds.

After all of that we were treated to a tour of where West Side Grounds stood and were the marker is by Bernardoni.
