Kyle Nichols led an 11 hit attack with two singles and a double as the South Bend SilverHawks snapped a five game losing streak with a 5-2 triumph over West Michigan in Midwest League action Thursday night.
Rick Haydel chipped in two hits as the Hawks picked up their first road win of the season by tallying three runs in the eighth inning to snap a 2-2 contest.
Right hander Justin Wechsler earned his first win of the season by scattering five hits and fanning four batters over seven innings.
