Kane County Cougars at Beloit Snappers

May 8th, 2004

There were two bad innings in tonights game, one bad Cougars inning, and one bad umpire inning. Besides that the Cougars would only give up two hits and no runs. The only problem is that they only scored two runs. Compared to the Snappers who would score eight runs in those two inning.

Jose Corchado started for the Cougars he would cruise through the first three innings perfectly. Then he would start to get hit, and hit hard by the Snapper. Guilder Rodriguez lead things off by drawing a walk. Terry Trofhold then singled to right. Drew Anderson would hit a shot to right centerfield for a three run homer. After a ground out and a fly out, Adam Heether then hit a solo shot to left center for the fourth run of the inning. After that Corchado had to be removed from the game with an injury. Manny Rodriguez then came in and finished off the inning.

Things were looking good at the start of the game fro the Cougars as they had scored single runs in both the first and the third innings. In the first Brian Ingram lead off the game with a walk. Luke Appert then singled to center. David Castillo then hit into a double play. Appert would be out at second, while Ingram would score the first run of the ballgame.

With two outs in the third inning Appert would hit a homer to right centerfield to make it a two to nothing game in the Cougars favor.

Things went way south in the eighth inning for the Cougars. With one out, Terry Trofholz bunted one perfectly down the third base line for a single, then he stole second. Anderson flew out to left for the second out. Lou Palmisano singled to left to score Trofholz. Vinny Rottino would single to center. Heether then hit one that went foul over high over the wall down the left field line. It was high over the foul pole but somehow former Major League Ump, Bob Davidson called it a fair ball. I know umps are blind and all, but are former major league umps even worse. Is he so old that his eyesight has gotten that bad that he cant see a long foul ball. It went for a three run homer for Heether.
