Warren Hanna went 3 for 4 and Buck Coats added a two run homer as the Lansing Lugnuts scored six runs in their final three at bats to defeat the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 7-3 at Olds Park on Monday.

The victory gave Lansing (25-24) a split of the four game series. The Kernels dropped to 25-24.

Lansing's Felix Sanchez took a no hitter and a 1-0 lead into the fifth inning, but the Kernels scored a pair of runs on five hits.

Cedar Rapids tied the game on a single from Ransel Melgarejo and took a brief lead in the top of the sixth on a Dallas McPherson single that scored Mike Eylward.

Lansing quickly regained the advantage in the bottom of the sixth. Antoine Cameron's two run double brough home Corey Slavik and Mike Mallory.

In the seventh and eighth innings, Lansing struck for four more runs. Ronny Cedeno and Slavik drove in runs with singles in the seveth, and Coats blasted his third homer of the year in the eighth.

Cedar Rapids got a rare run off Lansing's Eric Brown in the top of the ninth to complete the scoring.

Sanchez struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings. Emmanuel Ramirez (2-1) worked 2 1/3 innings of hitless relief to get the win. Cedar Rapids starter Ervin Santana (3-4) took the loss, allowing five earned runs in 6 2/3 innings.

The Lugnuts finally had an offensive outburst Monday.

Lansing scored more runs in the sixth through the eighth innings than in any previous six games, pounding out a 7-3 victory over Cedar Rapids at Olds Park.

The Lugnuts erupted for 12 hits, including a 3 for 4, two double effort by Warren Hanna.

Antoine Cameron's two run RBI double in the sixth gave the Lugnuts (25-24) a 3-2 lead.

Ronny Cedeno and Corey Slavik each hit RBI singles in the seventh. Buck Coats capped the scoring, hitting a two run homerun in the eighth.

"It's been a long time since we scored that many," said Lansing manager Julio Garcia, "Their starter had us tied up untill clutch hits by Slavik, Mike Mallory and Cameron."

The game marked the fourth of a 12 games Lugnuts home stand.

"We have a change to take extra hitting and infield at home." Garcia said, "That helps us execute when the situations arise in games."

Felix Sanchez started for Lansing and pitched 5 1/3 innings after a couple of poor outings. He allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out seven.

"He made good adjustments," Garcia said, "Today he went right after hitters. He had a good changeup and slider. He was completely different today than in the past."

Emmanuel Ramirez (2-1) was impressive out of the Lgunuts' bullpen. He allowed no hits and struck out three in 2 2/3 innings.

"Not just recently, but the whole year, guys have done a good job out of the bullpen," Garcie said.

Lansing has now homered in six straight games.

"We're on the verge," Coats said, "A couple of good day and we'll be right back at it. The pitching is doing the job."
