Tuesday was the Antoine Cameron show at Oldsmobile Park.
Lansing's right fielder single handedly powered the home team to a 11-6 win over Beloit, giving the Lugnuts a three game winning streak.
Capitalizing on shoddy Beloit pitching, Cameron was 4 for 5 with six RBI, three doubles and a home run.
"I felt like I couldn't get out today," Cameron said, "I had that feeling from the begining. It helped that they threw me fastballs and then it was pretty easy."
Lansing (26-24) fell behind 4-0 after the top of the first. Starter Carmen Pignatiello (5-2) had one of his worst outings of the year, but still gave the team six innings.
The left hander came into the game with a 2.28 ERA but was touched for six earned runs.
"Piggy is a battler and a competitor," Lansing manager Julio Garcia said, "He's done a good job with low run support in the past and today he had somewhat of an off day, but the offense picked him up."
While Pignatiello was off, Beloit starter Jon Steitz (0-6) was something else all together.
Steitz lasted just 3 1/3 innings, giving up six earned runs, six walks, four wild pitch, two balks and hit a batter.
Steitz had so much trouble locating the plate, one of his pitches bounced in the grass before even reaching the dirt area batters box.
"He should have been out of the game a lot earlier," said a suprised Cameron, "I don't know how he lasted that long."
Garcia was less critical of Steitz, "To me, those stats are like a woman in a bikini," Garcia said, "You see some but you don't see it all. His fastball was really sinking."
Lansing didn't end the game unscathed. outfielder Buck Coats had to leave the contest in the sixth inning when he fouled a ball off his right knee. Garcia said early indications are that the injury is a bruise, but Coats will likely miss a few games.
