The Wisconsin TimberRattlers finished their four game series with the Dayton Dragons on a positive note on Friday, defeating the Dragons 4-2 in a Midwest League game at Dayton, Ohio.
After waiting out a two hour, 57 minute rain delay, the Timber Rattlers scored in the first inning.
After Chris Collins hit a two out single to left field. Greg Dobbs hit a home run to right field off Dragons starter Bobby Basham.
The Rattlers made it 3-0 in the fourth inning on a single by Corey Freeman that scored Jason Rainey. In the sixth, Joe Powers replaced Basham and Rainey hit his first home run of the season.

A normally quick draining Fifth Third Field failed to respond to a 45 minute downpour Friday night, creating a nearly three hour rain delay in the Class A Midwest League game between the Dayton Dragons and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Rain began just 20 minutes before the scheduled 7pm start and stopped by 7:30.
Usually, the field drains within a half hour. This time, it didn't, with standing water ankle deep on the warning track in center and right fields.
Dragons officals said they didn't know why there was a problem and the situation will be addressed.
By the time the game began at 9:57 several hundred of an original crowd of 8,687 left, missing Greg Dobbs' two run homer in the first to give the TimberRattlers a 2-0 lead.
The rain delay wasn't the only thing that bothered Dragons manager Donnie Scott. Strolling through the clubhouse following batting practice several hours earlier, Scott thought things looked a little messy.
Within minutes, he held a short meeting with his players, then called the front office to have two video machinges removed from the lunchroom.
"It's just spring cleaning, "Scott said. "It's a mess in here. I just don't like video machines. I didn't like it from the start. I gave it a chance."
There was more to it than spring cleaning.
"Your mind should be on baseball," Scott said, "It was a nice idea if you're 10 games up in first place, but not when you're eight games out and in fifth place."
So that's why the video machines will be gone today.
"We're not getting blown out of the water," Scott said, "It just seems when it's on the line, we're not getting it done and the other teams are."
Odd that he used the water reference. Neither team was happy with the rain delay as the Dragons host a Fan Fest today at 10am to 1pm and the TimberRattlers faced a 9 1/2 hour postgame bus ride home to Appleton, Wisconsin. where they have a game tonight against South Bend, Indiana.
Prior to Friday's game the Dragons had lost three straight, all at home, and a team record seven straight at home going to the previous home stand.
"I think we've got it in us to win." Scott said, "When things aren't going right, you have to go back to detail. When stuff isn't going right, I want to find out why. I don't like things messy. If you look good, you feel good, you play good. It was messy in there. One year in extended spring training. I pulled everyone's stuff out of their lockers and piled it in the middle of the floor. When the players came in. I thold then they had to be on the field in 15 minutes and they had to go throught that pile and find their stuff."
Scott insists, though the spring cleaning was not a form of punishment and that he wasn't angry as he could be. "If it had been only about losing," Scott said, "We would have been cleaning that clubhouse everyday a month ago."
