South Bend Tribune

The South Bend SilverHawks are probably sorry to leave Fox Cities Stadium.

Outstanding pitching paved the way Monday for South Bend to sweep a double header from Wisconsin and complete a four game sweep of the TimberRattlers.

Eight Wisconsin errors paved the way to nine unearned runs for South Bend, which got six strong innings from Edgar Gonzalez to roll an 11-3 triumph.

In the first game, South Bend erased a 1-0 deficit by coming up with four runs in the third inning with Nichols providing a two run single.

Lino Garcia's fourth homer of the season, a two run shot, hightlighted a three run, fourth inning outburst.

Gonzalez (7-3) scattered seven hits and fanned four over six innings. Peter Sikaras tossed three shutout innings to earn his first save.

Scott Hairston and Garcia finished with two hits and two RBIs while Jarred Ball, Nichols and Garcia drove in two runs apiece.,br>
