Kane County Cougars at Clinton Lumberkings

It only took one big inning today for the Cougars to jump in the lead and stay there. That big inning was a five run fifth, that was capped off by a three run homer by Vasili Spanos.
Jared Trout got his second victory as a Cougar. He pitch ok as he went intot he sixth inning, he gave up six hits and four runs.
With one out in the third inning Chris Tritle hit his fourth homer of the season. Two pitches later Nick Rogers triple to center. One out later Luke Appert would double down the left field line, the ball was just fair. I would score Rogers.
The game would be tied by the Kings in the fourth inning. Ian Kinsler led off with a single to left. Josh Kruezer was hit by a pitch. Dane Bubela then singled to right to score Kinsler. Jason Fransz grounded into a double play, Bubela would be out at second and Kruezer would score.
Now came the fun in the fifth. Tritle led off by reaching on an error by the left fielder Andrew Wishey. He basically just droped the ball. Tritle would reach second on the play. Rogers doubled to center to score Tritle. Ingram would ground out to second to get Rogers to third. Luke Appert then hit a grounded that bounced over the head of the shortstop Kinsler for a single. On the play Rogers scored. David Castillo walked. Spanos then hit a three run homer over the scoreboard in left field.
Clinton came right back in the bottom of the inning to get a run back. Kevin Richardson was hit by a pitch to led things off. Abigal Sandoval bunted him to second. Adam Bourassa lined out to left for the second out. Micah Furtado then singled to center to score Richardson. The Kings got one more run in the sixth inning. Kruezer led off with a double to cetner. One out laterFransz singled to right, Kruezer stoped at third. The Cougars then made a pitching change bringin in Brigerm Leon to replace Jared Trout. Andrew Wishey then reached on a fielder's choice, with Fransz out at second, Kruezer would score.
The Kings had two more chances to score some runs in the seventh and the eighth innings. In the seventh, with one out Adam Bourassa bunted on back to the pitch Leon and beat it out. A wild pitch would move him to second. Furtado then walked. Dan Fyvie came in to replace Leon. With runners on first and second with only one out, and the league's leading hitter up, Ian Kinsler. Fyvie got him to ground into a double play to end the inning.
In the eighth with one out Dane Bubela singled to third. One out later Whishey singled to center, Bubela went to third. The Cougars then made a pitching change. Jario Garcia came in for Fyvie. Garcia would get Richardson to fly to left to end the inning.
The Cougars weren't done, the had another chance in the ninth to add another run. With one out, Nick Rogers singled to right. A pickoff attempt would led to a throw that went into right field, Rogers went all the way to third. Ingram popped out to short for the second out. Appert fouled out to third to end the inning, strandin Rogers at third.
