Buck Coats went 3 for 4 with a bases clearing triple as Lansing scored six times in the first three innings and cruised to a 7-2 win over Peoria at Oldsmobile Park.
With the win the Lugnuts (28-29) avoid being swept by the Chiefs (34-22) who won the previous three games of the series by a combined margin of 29-4.
Lansing got RBI singles in the second from Francisco Salas and Travis Silver to take a 2-0 lead. Coats' triple in the third made the score 5-1, and Salas added an RBI double later in the inning to give Lansing a 6-1 advantage after three.
Mike Mallory was 3 for 4 with three runs scored for Lansing.
Adam Wynegar (3-2) got the win for the Lugnuts as he allowed just one earned run in five innings.
B.J. Benik got his first save of the year, allowing one hit and striking out six in four innings.
