Eddie Kim hit a game winning homer in the tenth inning to bring the Cougars to a 8-2 road trip. In the tenth with two outs he hits one to right field for his seventh homer of the season.
It was a weird game as all three of the Cougars runs were on solo homers. Brian Ingram hit one to lead off the game. Luke Appert hit one to lead off the third inning, and then there was Kim's. Besides that the Cougars really didnt do much offensivley, they had four other hits. Appert had a double in the fifth with two outs and would be stranded at second. Kim had a single to lead off the eighth and would end up being out on an inning ending double play. Dustin Majewski singled in the second inning, and would be stranded at second, after another inning ending double play. Majewski also singled in the seventh with one out. That inning would end after two strike outs.
The main thing for the Cougars was the walks, they were givin five of them, none of them would score. None of them would touch third base. Ingram in the sevneth, and Kim in the first were stranded at first. David Castillo in the first and Vasili Spanos in the sixth were stranded at second. Trevor Brwon in the second would be out on a fielder's choice at third.
Chris Dunwell started for the Cougars and did not pitch to badly. He went five inning, and gave up four hits and one run. Dunwell walked three and struck out six. He got into trouble three times in his outing. In the first inning, Micah Furtado led off with a single to right. Casey Benjamin then grounded out to short. Andrew Wishy would walk. A double steal would put runners on second and third with one out. Josh Kruezer then popped out ot first. Brandon Cashmen would strike out to end the inning.
Clinton would score in the second inning. Emerson Frostad led off with a double to left, he pulled a hamstring or something in the leg and had to replace with Kevin Richardson. Abrigal Sandoval then placed a bunt down to third, Spanos couldnt get a hold of it and would be charged with an error on the sacrifice attempt. That put runners on the corners with nobody out. Justin Hatcher flew out to center, Richardson tagged up and would score. Larry Grayson followed with a single to center. Furtado reached on a fielder's choice, with Grayson being out at second. Benjamin then flew out to center to end the inning.
In the fifth inning with one out, Benjamin walked. Wishy would then be called out on strikes for the second out. Kruezer singled to center to get Benjamin to second. Cashmen grounded out to second to end the inning.
Huston Street came on a was overpowering. He struck out the first two he faced in the sixth. In the seventh, Grayson singled to left. Furtado put down a sacrifice bunt to move Grayson over. Nejamin then grounded out to second to move Grayson to third. After three balls, they intentionally walked Wishy to put runners on the corners and two outs. A wild pitch would move the runners along, with Grayson scoring from third. Kruezer then struck out to end the inning.
J.R. Pickens did a nice job in an inning and one third. He allowed a single to Sandoval and that was all. Justin Crowder would finish off the ninth and get the first out of the tenth with no problems, to get his second win. Jose Corchado then came on and after a walk, got the final two outs to get his fourth save of the year.
