They tell us that the current full moon is a "blue moon" , because it's the second full moon of the month. Let's hope that games like this only happends once in a blue moon. When you load the bases three times and only score once, when you out hit the other team and loose by six runs, you got a problem.

The Cougars left 14 runners on base, some team dont see 14 runners on base in a week, and we left that many on base in one game. The Cougars just couldnt do anything with runners on base, besides swing and miss.

In the first inning Brian Ingram led off the game with a walk, then stole second. Luke Appert, David Castillo and Eddie Kim all were called out on strikes. All of them called out, not swingin, called. That's one left on.

In the second inning, Vasili Spanos singled to right. Dan Putnam then reached on a fielder's choice, with Spanos being out at second. Luis Perez then singled to short. Dustin Majewski would then ground into an innning ending double play. One left on, two for the game.

In the third inning the Cougars would score a run. Kory Wayment led off with a double to center. Ingram then flew out to right. Appert reached on a bobble by the third baseman Brandon Wood. Wayment would score on the play. Castillo poped out foul to the second baseman for the second out. Kim then poped out to center. One left on, three for the game.

The fourth inning, Spanos singled to left, but would then be ereased on a double play by Putnam. In the fifth they would leave the bases loaded. With one out Wayment singled to center. Ingram would then walk. One out later, Castillo walked. Kim would then line out ot left, on a nice catch by the left fielder. Three more left on, six for the game.

The sixth saw the bases left loaded again. Spanos led off with a walk. Putnam then reached on a fielder's choice with Spanos being out at second. The Kernels then mad a pitching change. Perez doubled down the left field line. Putnam went to third. Nick Rogers pitch hit for Majewski. He would walk which loaded the bases. Wayment and Ingram both struck out which left the bases loaded. Three more left on in the inning, nine for the game.

In the seventh inning, Appert led off with a single to left. Castillo would then pop to first. Kim singled to left. Men on first and second with one out. Spanos and Putnam then both struck out, which ment the runners were stranded on base. Two left on in the inning. Eleven for the game.

In the ninth inning the Cougars would leave the bases loaded after finally scoring a run with them loaded. With one out, Appert singled to center. Castillo poped up foul to the catcher. Kim would then reach on an error. Spanos somehow actually beat out an infield single to the pitcher to load the bases. Putnam singled to right to score Appert. Perez then hit the first pitch foul back to the catcher to end the game. Three more left on, 14 for the game.

Now I wont blame the Cougars for it all, the Kernels pitchers were doing a nice job of getting out of loads of trouble. Their bullpen of Allen Buckley, Aaron Pullin and Carlos Morban allowed all of one unearned run. They gave up six hit and struck out six. The Kernels starter Abel Moreno went into the sixth inning, giving up five hits and one run. He walked two and struck out four. Thats ten Cougars that struck out in the game, seven of them struck out with men on base. Three of those strike outs were looking.

The Kernels would score eight runs int he game. They started off the scoring in the first inning. Quan Cosby reached on an error by shortstop Ingram. Ryan Leahy then singled to right. One out later, Bobby Wilson reached on a fielder's choice, with Leahy getting in a rundown. Cosby would score, and by the end of the rundown Wilson was on second. Brandon Wood then doubled to center to score Wilson. Cougar starter Chris Dunwell, would get Michael Collins to strike out looking to end the inning.

The second inning would see the Kernels score again. Blake Balkcom led off with a walk. Matt Brown would then double to center to score Balkcom. Felix Nunez put down a good sacrifice bunt to move Brown to third. Cosby would then strike out, and Leahy grounded out to end the inning. Dunwell would go five inning, and not have his best stuff. When he left the Cougars were only down four runs and by no way out of the game.

With one out in the third inning Wilson singled to short. Wood then doubled over a diving Majewski in center. Wilson would score. Collins moved Wood to third with a ground out. Balkcom then flew out to center to end the inning.

Dunwell was able to erase a leadoff single in the fourth with a double play. In the fifth Leahy clobbered a leadoff homer to left field. After the homer Dunwell got, Baltazar Lopez to strike out. Wilson to ground out and Wood to fly out to calmly get out of the inning.

Manny Rodriguez has found something with his new arm angel because he is a ground ball machine. He came in and got hte next four out all ground balls. Cosby then singled to center. Leahy would reach on an error by the third baseman Spanos. The Cougars then brought in Justin Crowder to replace Rodriguez. Crowder would get Lopez to strike out and Cosby on a caught stealing to end the inning.

The eighth inning was when the Kernels scored the other three runs. Crowder got hte first two Kernels to ground out to second. Collins then would double to right. The Cougars then brought in Dan Fyvie, why I dont know. Fyvie hit Balkcom with his second pitch. Matt Brown then crushed a homer onto the deck in left field. Fyvie did get Nunez to strike out to end the inning.

The Cougars offense did do somethings right. Vasili Spanos had three singled and a walk. He only reached second once though. Vasili did break up a double play nicely. Dan Putnam was on base three times. He reached on two fielder's choices, and had the run scoring single in the ninth. Luis Perez had two hits including a double. Kory Wayment had two hits, including a double and a run scored.
