The Burlington Bees knocked Cougar starter Jared Trout around in the first inning with five runs, and in the third with two more. They would have a nine run lead before the Cougars would be able to do anything.
Angel Sanchez led off the game by being hit by a pitch. Brandon Powell singled to right. Chris Lubanski singled to short to load the bases. Kenard Springer singled to center to score both Sanchez and Powell. Kila Kaaihue then hit a homer to left center to bring the total to five runs. Trout then got, Ed Lucas to line out to center. Kevin Reinking lined out to right. Cole Hilt poped out foul to first to finally end the inning.
In the third inning Trout gave up two runs. Springer led off by being hit by a pitch. Kaaihue then hit one way over the deck in right field for his second homer of the game. The score was now seven to nothing. The Cougars then brought out the hook for Trout and brought in Manny Rodriguez. Rodriguez gave up two doubles in two innings but would strand the runners on second. In the sixth he wasnt so lucky. With one out Sanchez singled to third. Powell then homerd to the right field deck. To make the score nine to nothing.
Meanwhile the Cougars were being no-hit, by John Gragg. Gragg who enterd the game 2-10 on the year. He no hit the Cougars through six innings, and was perfect through four. Gragg also had seven strikeout, he walked three and hit one.
The Cougars had one huge inning, they scored seven runs and for an inning looked like the team that was once the best team in all of pro baseball. With one out, David Castillo walked. Dustin Majewski then grounded one just past the first baseman. Dan Putnam would single to left to score Castillo. One out later, Jess Acosta got his first hit as a Cougar, after going 0 for 20. He doubled to left to score both Majewski and Putnam. The Bees brought in Nate Moore to pitch to Nick Rogers. Rogers singled to left to score Acosta. Brian Ingram walked. Trevor Brown then pitch hit for Brian Snyder, and doubled to right to score both Rogers and Ingram. Eddie Kim doubled to the gap in right to score Brown. The inning would end after Castillo struck out.
Unfortunatly the Cougars couldnt carry any momentum into the rest of the game as they wouldnt get another hit.
The bullpen came up big in the late innings to hold it to two runs behind. Mike McGirr came on to pitch the seventh. With one out he hit Ed lucas. Reinking then walked. Cole Hilt would single to right to load the bases with only the one out. Barry struck out. Sanchez would then pop out to right to end the inning. Dan Fyvie pitched the eighth and would have a little trouble. With one out Chris Lubanski hit one back off of his shin for a single, then stole second. One out later Fyvie got wild, and would walk Kaaihue intentional, at least on the last pitch. Lucas would end the inning by grounding out to second. J.R. Pickens who just came off the disabled list pitch a perfect ninth inning.

J.R. Pickens came off the disabled list and Jose Corchado went on with a tender elbow.
Notes
Pam Rasmussen was the sweetheart of the game. Today was Jimmy Buffett day, to put it mildly since im not a Buffet fan, it was a long day. The uniforms almost made the Swing of the Quad Cities uniforms look good.,
Error-Cougar Assisant General Manager (Promotions), Jeff Ney. Come on Jeff you gotta make a play up there some time.
