In a wierd game, not for the play on the field, the Cougars won 1-0. The rain delays were longer than the game itself, or so that is what it seemed. Drew Dickinson ptched very well, through both rain delays.

Drew pitched seven innings, giving up only three hits and off course no runs. He didnt walk anyone and struck out two. He was in trouble only once int he game and that was in the first inning. Besides that he allows one hit int he second and one runner in the fourth on an error.

In the top of the first Brian Burgamy led off by strikeing out on three pitches. Luis Cruz then hit the first pitch he saw into left field for a single. Peter Stoward then reached on a field'ers choice, with Cruz being out at second. Then the rain started to fall, Paul McAnualty doubled to right, Stoward stopped at third. The game was stopped and we all ran intot he souviener shop to stay dry. The rain delay last about forty-five minutes. After the field was back in condition to play Colt Molton came up with two runners on and promtly grounded out to third to finally end the inning.

The Cougars would score the only run of the game in the bottom of the inning. With one out Nick Rogers reached on a bunt single to third, the throw from the third baseman was wild and Rogers would end up on second. Brian Stavisky grounded out to first, on the play Rogers moved to third. Brant Colamarino then singled just past the second baseman to right to score Rogers. John McCurdy would strikeout to end the inning.

In the sixth inning we would get another rain delay and just like the first one it was with two outs. This one would be about 15 minutes. The sixth was led off by Stavisky grounding out to short. Brant Colamarino got two quick strikes on him looking. Then he started to yell at the ump and get in his face, he would quickly be tossed and go nuts, (no he didn't pull a Mowday). It turns out that the last six pitches he saw int he game were all called strikes and I believe he might've had a beef with that call. Francis Gomez then came up and finished the strikeout. After that the rains came for the second rain delay.

In the seventh inning Drew quickly got the three outs, since you could hear thunder and see lightning in the distance. I believe they had one pitch in the bottom of the seventh then a very loud Boom!! quickly got the game finished. The game was called a half hour later, It would be called a Cougar victory and another shutout.

Notes-Well I guess I have to give an assitst to Cougar Assistant General Manager Jeff Ney, for his help in the Ozzie race. The kid kept on going the wrong way then they put him going the right way and he just stopped in his tracks and stared at Ozzie. Finally rounding third Ney comes over and trips Ozzie so that the kid could win. If there was ever a chance for Ozzie to break his losing streak this would've been the time. Oh well Ozzie maybe next time.
