A late comeback was not enough as the Lansing Lugnuts fell 4-3 to Fort Wayne Wednesday afternoon.
Trailing 4-1 to start the ninth inning, Lugnuts Josh Arteaga and J.J. Johnson got on base with singles. Brad Bouras doubled them both home but was stranded on second base to end the game.
Lansing's only other run came in the fourth inning when Johnson singles home Ryan Theriot, who reached base on a single and stole second base.
Sergio Mitre started for Lansing (6-7), giving up just one run and five hits in six innings. Yorkin Ferreras (0-2) took the loss in relief.
