The game only lasted 5 1/2 innings, but that was enough for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers to earn a 2-1 win over Quad City in a Midwest League baseball game Thursday night at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute.
The game was stopped after the Rattlers turned a double play to end the top half of the sixth. The game was called 30 minuted later.
Quad City leadoff hitter Kaulana Kuhaulua homered on the fourth pitch of the game, but after that Wisconsin starting pitcher Renee Cortez settled down and only allowed two more hits in his five innings.
The Rattlers answered in the second inning when Greg Dobbs hit a triple off the wall in left centerfield. Luis Oliveros hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored Dobbs, and then Sean Peless homered over the right field wall.
Peless home run was hit third in the last three games and his fifth of the season, the most in the Midwest League.
